Our cow herd is managed on a pasture and bedded pack barn system. This allows our cows to have shelter from the elements and still have free range to wander and graze in the summer. During the winter our cows are fed a hay and grain ration that is balanced to give them optimal nutrition.
Our cows are on a regularly scheduled herd health program to ensure they are protected from all diseases, viruses, and parasites. We planned our herd health program with our veterinarian's advice and input to ensure our cows have the best possible care and protection.
Our genetics are sought after worldwide and marketed under the Synergy Wagyu name, which is a partnership between Loren and his son Mitchell. Pictured is Stonyrun Suzito 3, a top selling cow from our 2018 sale. We have exported genetics from our cattle to Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and South Africa.
The Stonyrun herd is based on the absolute best genetics to have been exported from Japan. Pictured is World K's Suzutani, who is arguably the best Wagyu cow to have been exported from Japan. Her genetics are the base of our Wagyu beef program.
We actively search for, breed, and utilize only the best Wagyu bulls available in the world. We have imported and exported semen from the USA, Australia, and South Africa.
Stonyrun Farms Wagyu is known for its distinct, buttery melt in your mouth flavor along with incredible tenderness. To achieve this, our cattle are fed a high quality forage diet until 12 months of age, then grain fed for 300+ days. This creates an amazing and consistent Wagyu product for our customers to enjoy.
Our high quality forage (grass & hay) is an integral part of raising our cattle. It allows them to grow and mature to their maximum potential. All cattle have free choice forage for nutrition on a daily basis.
Our cattle are finished on grain. This is an essential part of the Wagyu finishing process. Grain is the source of energy our cattle need to develop their signature marbling. Grain finishing is what drives the healthy fat (Mono Unsaturated Fatty Acids) deposition in Wagyu beef. Simply put, grain finishing is the driving force behind the buttery, tender, melt in your mouth flavor!
Stonyrun Wagyu beef is all natural, hormone free, and antibiotic free.
We strive to maintain a sustainable and responsible production system to give our customers and consumers confidence in the Stonyrun Farms eating experience.
